Looking to change the gear ratio on my motor, have done some research and found the part numbers for the bottom sprocket but not the top. Anyone have any idea what the part number would be for the top sprocket? |

2004, 35hp. Looks like if I replace the top with a 36. I’ll be about a tenth of a inch taller center to center from the original 38, 45 combo. Should be able to shim it up easily. Would leave me with a 1.25 ratio, closer to what they are running now. And I can keep the 45 on bottom. |

If you swap the lower gear, you'll have to change belt housings. If you only change the top one, shimming is all that's necessary. What rpms are you running now with desired load? You might find a little prop work does all you need, or you might want to run the 48t bottom as well to get more engine rpms since you're running a stock engine. All that said, gatortail doesnt charge a whole lot for the gears compared to buying from somewhere else (unless something changed), just give them a buzz. #CFFITR #GhostBoat #Whoneedsphysicsihaveamudmotor |
