2011 23 hp GoDevil SURFACE DRIVE
Just bought my first mud boat. Downloaded the manual greased all exterior points. motor started right up idled it for about two minutes. Revved it up held it for about ten seconds let of idled back down got back on it then motor locked up. I haven’t called GoDevil yet plan on doing that tomorrow. Anyone know of rebuild kits out there? Did a quick google and a lot of different ones pop up.

Man by the looks of that spark plug you had a hell of a wreck inside of that cylinder. My guess is you’ll need a short block rebuild. You can call a briggs dealer for one or type in your model number to a small engine website to find one yourself. Let us know what godevil says or what you find if you tear into it yourself.

Well here is the after math dropped a valve and well you know what happens after that. Talked to coco haven’t looked at the cylinder yet to scared to take off the head lol. But if nothing is chewed up which I doubt the have heads they can sell me. I’m gonna get the head off today and will let you guys know the aftermath.

Never seen a valve come through the head like that. Pretty neat.

That's a bit different valve geometry you got on there. Probably not as efficient as what Briggs had in mind.
