Post Performance Heads with Stock Carb/Exhaust
I am running a 35 Briggs and after a leakdown test, it is time for a valve job (also had blown head gasket). Since I am already pulling the heads, I figure I might as well get away from the Briggs valves and do a little upgrade. I ordered some Delta Performance heads.

I plan on still running stock carb and exhaust. Anyone see any issues? I will retune the carb after everything is set.

More power sounds great with new carb and exhaust, I just didnt want to spend $1200-1300 on it if its not "needed".

No issues, but for ~$300 more you can throw in a performance cam and really be making a difference.

Lies. Don't listen to Will C. He knows nothing.

Or does he.........?

Seriously, though, he's probably right.

So, I went with new heads from Will, and originally used a stock carb and exhaust. It Definitely made a difference but I quickly bought a mikuni and exhaust and the motor WOKE UP
I'm talking significantly different from just stock, and stock with heads.
If youre going to do it, do it all.
It costs a bit to get it done, but you'll love it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I started with just heads, then was talked into carb last week, and now I think I have been talked into exhaust. Looks like I will order a Stainless Works exhaust this morning.

I guess it hurts less if you buy it all separate!

Yeah I am doing the work myself and I was trying to keep it simple this go around with things I am familiar with. But if I get the itch later on I will tear into internals and put a new cam in.
