Re: Pd props and mods
what load are you trying to carry and what is the performance now (Speed/RPM)? Is your prop in good shape?
You can do mods incrementally. High flow exhaust and headwork will give the most HP gain for the buck.

Re: Pd props and mods
As of now i am running about 30.3 mph with me (200 lbs) and a full gas tank. when trimmed out i am at about 4130 rpm's. My prop is in ok condition, has a few small nics in it. The main thing i was wondering about the prop is 3 blade or two blade better. I talked to a guy the other day that said his motor ran 1mph faster and with the three blade and it also helped him get on plan quicker, and helped out midrange a tone.

The 3 blade ain't worth a crap for the 36PD's, don't waste your time.

Re: Pd props and mods
30 mph is flyin in a mud boat. From what I've read the 3 blades give you basically what you stated. 1-2mph top end, and maybe help get on plane. But I've read they don't do to well in the mud. Looks like most of the guys runnin sticky mud that tried a 3 blade went back to the 2's.
What is your boat running loaded?

Re: Pd props and mods
That sounds like pretty good speed to me. I'd be thrilled runnin 25 with that load. Mines barely hittin 20 with 3 men no gear. Do have a smaller 27 though.
Good luck to ya. I'm sure these boys on here will help point you in the right direction. If not call some of the prop manufactures, hopkins is the only one fresh on my mind. And call some of the guys that do mods, gecker, evt, etc. Tell em what your trying to accomplish and they should be able to get you there.
