Post Which offset timing key?
Briggs 32 with .050 decking and shaved pistons, Mikuni HSR carb and Marshmellow exhaust.

I've searched but didn't find an answer. How much offset would be recommended to optimize performance?

I would use a 2or 3 deg key for a total of 25/26 degrees

Posting pic here because i cant send it To your pm. I would try a number 2 first. If u feel a huge improvement then try a 3. If little improvement leave it at 2. Yours being an oldie may not even have the hardened connecting rods so be conservative
