Post Rev limiter question
Has anybody bypassed the governor and put a rev limiter on a Koehler 27 EFI to get more rpm’s? Just wondering if it would work with it being an EFI motor.

Just adjust it to spin more. It'll turn up beyond 4400 if I remember correctly. Do some searching on the forum. It's probably been 3 or 4 years, but it's been discussed here at length.

Post Re: Rev limiter question
I have the 26.5 Kohler EFI. That may be what you were referring to. I bought a longer screw to put more tension on the governor spring so it would kick in at higher RPM. The coils on the 26.5 have a built in 4500 RPM limit. I think we discussed this in the longtail forum. I regularily run my backwater longtail at 4200 rpm. I am no authority though by any means. Good luck.

Pretty sure you were one of the conversations, and i thought it was something simple like the screw. I do know those engines dont mind spinning past the stock gov setting, so thanks for helping the OP out.
