I wouldn't suggest holding your breath. Yamaha released some larger verticals a few years ago, but they weren't close to 1000cc, so they never got any interest. Honda seems pretty content in the "around 800cc" market, just like kawasaki and yamaha. Briggs is still your only factory mm engine horizontal big block option, and add kawasaki and kohler if you want to do it yourself. #CFFITR #mudmotor>physics |

Thanks, Russ. Out of curiosity, why do you say that about Kohler and Kawi? |

You'd have to buy one and install yourself. For the larger power market, mudmotor manufacturers only use the small block kohler (25 hp or whatever it is). Kawasaki used to cringe when they heard the word mudmotor. Mudbuddy tested the big kohler and said it didn't perform. I expect it performed similarly based on the dyno sheet, but cost more. Subaru made a big block for a little bit, then quit. Looked like a decent potential option. None of the larger displacement engines except briggs have aftermarket supported power recipes. #CFFITR #mudmotor>physics |
