   |   40hpI’m on my third 40hp and I have to say, this is by far the best motor Briggs ever put together. I have had zero issue with any of them. My outboard friends have more issues than I have. How are y’all liking them? _________________

   |   Re: 40hpWhen they start - they are smooth and the power is impressive....
Early cable issues still have me waiting and running the old 35 with the carb....

But I sure like them when they run....

   |   Re: 40hpThe 40 is the best stock engine power wise since the big block has been brought to market. I have less warranty claims on the 40 than I have with the 37. The early models were also problematic like the 37's but it seems to have gotten better. Now a shift of focus has happened on whats being repaired. Now i see starter issues, ALOT more cracked cylinder heads, and alot more blown head gaskets. Id be willing to bet a lot of it its user error and shitty fuel quality, BUT briggs pays.
