35 briggs cam
Is there anyone out there that is grinding cams from a new core and not a welded up job? Does anyone offer rocker arms with increased ratios over stock that are reliable? Thanks

Re: 35 briggs cam
Thanks Craig, I was under the assumption that EVT had welded cams. I'll look into it.

They did at one time. Not sure if they still do or not.

Re: 35 briggs cam
There are no "un-ground" cores available at this time so everything has to be welded. If Briggs could or would supply us with an unground core like they do on the various kart racing engines, we would not need to weld them.
If they are welded correctly and then heat treated, there is no issues with a welded cam core at all. We have had zero failures in at least 15 years on any engine type with a welded core regardless of RPM or HP.

Re: 35 briggs cam
Do you have a small block cam available for the 23?

Re: 35 briggs cam
I think BPS does now, but I'm not sure. I thought that was the "new" cam that was in mine.

Re: 35 briggs cam
Our new cams are not welded they are ground. We have also repaired some stock flat cams by using a spray process to apply metal rather than welding them. Our new cams are making more torque and better throttle response than the older cheetah cam. We also have higher ratio rocker arms as well.
