Bought a new 35hp carb vanguard engine to replace my 25 Subaru efi on my 2013 GTR.

Going to remove the key switch wiring from the engine to the tiller handle key switch wiring.
There is a brown and grey wire on the new engine. I assume the brown is the key switch ground.

What is the grey? On the GTR the grey is clutch but this grey is in the new engine harness. No idea what to do with this wire.

On the new engine connector from key switch:
Brown - ????
Grey - ????
Yellow - starter B+
Black - coil ground
Red - terminates at the connector
Green - oil pressure switch

On GTR tiller handle from key switch:
Yellow - starter B+
Orange - starter B+
Black - coil ground
Red/white - fuel pump (efi only)

If you don’t have it figured out, I’ll try and swing by my storage unit and look on my boat sometime over the next few days.

Thanks guys. Got confirmation today that grey is for a fuel solenoid. Not needed for my application.
1 step closer to having this thing back in the water.

Wired up. 12v to lug on starter. And nothing when I hit the key.

Trim works and key box on tiller was never taken apart. Orange wire is on starter lug with batt+. Yellow wire is on solenoid. Wtf
