Impact screwdriver.

Or start it up and put it in gear for a minute. :D

Make sure you got the right phillips head size. THe drill method with a clutch/impact devide will get it out or you need to put a screwdriver in and smack it with a hammer and push tight while unscrewing the plug. Really its not that hard to get it out.. Takes some "thinking" and "doing".

if your talking about the one that faces forward toward the bow of the boat on the bottom of the belt housing... I finally removed that one and put a flat head once I screwed that one up I put in a hex bolt and have never had a problem since.
