did you buy those plans off ebay? ok first off 15 by what (width) weight of boat is a factor if money is a issue go to harbor freight and by the 13hp one lunger has electric start and for 399.00 what the hell just buy the warrenty i am building the same on a 14-42 for the ole man so when im not there with the 18-60 he and the dog can go out to the back water but that set up wouldnt be able to hunt any more load than that one guy one dog and decoys and some barley pops ![]() |

Yeah got the plans off e-bay, it's a 1542. Looked at them motors but the only problem with them is that they are a throw away motor...meaning when something breaks they are junk with no parts available. Can get into a 18-20 hp for around $1,000, but does a guy need it? Most my hunting is done with two guys and a dog and not so much mud but alot of weeds... |

Definately get the highest your boat is rated for I have a 23 gdlt on a 1544 and it pushes it pretty good. So I would say anything around that hp would push your boat pretty good. |

im runnin a 23 mini on a 14x48 riveted boat. 3 years and the transom is fine. doesnt seem to be any flex at all. now i run shallow clear water. i figure mud would be different and put alot more stress on it. but i do manage to hit some big a$$ rocks wide open from time to time. |
