 Hours on engine
How many hours on a GTR or PD is considered a lot? I'm looking for a second hand rig and was looking at hours on engine. Is there a big difference btw 75 and 150 or depends more on how the owner took care of the engine?
Thanks.

 Re: Hours on engine
these engines are meant to run for thousands of hours, the condition of the frame and the lower unit should be your major concerns.

 Re: Hours on engine
75-150 hours is realy not alot of hours. Shit....the briggs owners manual recommneds not adding synthetic oil until 50 hours. THose motors are just broken in.
If anything....the 75-150 hours gives you some leverage to try and make a good deal if the motor isn't selling.
I don't really see much difference between the 75&150 hours except price.

 Re: Hours on engine
i can't vouch for gaytortails or mb's, but pd's last a long time. 100-200 hrs is just getting broke in. if it got over 1000hrs then have it checked out before u buy. once u get over 500hrs i would use it as a negotiating tool to lower price. 200 hrs ain't shit.

 Re: Hours on engine
Briggs will run forever if you don't mod them!!You might have to adjust the belts on the GatorTails! And the poodrives you will have to change seals and sometimes gears!!But the Briggs will last a long time
