Anybody ever use a harbor freight motor?
Ive got a 6.5 grey hound on my tiller and its an almost exact clone of the honda gx200. The muffler off the honda even bolted on. ive been running it for about 3 weeks now and seems to be a pretty strong engine. They have a 13 horse and i was wondering if anybody ever used one on a mud motor? i got the 6.5 hp for $99.00, the 13 hp goes on sale for $300.00 and with a 20% off coupon thats $240 dolllars for a new motor......

Yeah if you could get it with a two or three year warranty for not much more, I'd say go for it. Biggest problem with the cheapo motors is replacement parts, or the lack of.

heard the harbor freight ones are cheap. the 13 hp was the one mentioned exactly on another web site. talk of a site maybe rember called smallengines.com has a 13 hp thats alot better. i think most of them have 1 yr warranty. good thing about that is i bet they send you a new motor not fix the one you got.

Yeah at harbor freight you can purchase an extended warranty and it would be a replacement not repair...
