once u deck da heads and boost compression you'll need to run 93

my .02 is that even witha stock motor run 93 octane cause the ethanol content is lower i've heard ... and gator me and my dad ran av gas in our race car you might want to switch to a vp or sonoco race fuel .. have to get my dad to explain the reason we switched for me tomorrow and i will relay his info to you if you like he knows more about the mechanical side i just know how to fork 'em up...lol

87 for me unless I am in a generous mood and feel like waisting my money on that good gas. They told me to use 93, I just don't see the point when my motor runs perfectly fine on regular. Modded or not, its still a lawn mower engine.

On 87 sounds like my motor is about to come apart. 93 is the only way for my motor

Higher octane ratings actually help reduce pre-detonation/ knocking on motors with compression ratios higher than 9.5-1.

Other causes of pre-detonation/knocking can at times be from carbon buildup and poor timing adjustments.

Ethanol also helps to reduce pre-detonation/knocking.

So basically as you increase compression you should also increase the octane rating.

So when do we get a Stage 4 with direct Ethanol injection. LOL

Cool, so its not related to stage but to compression ~
so just a Mukini and a exhaust 87 is good ?

I run 93 on my Stock motor. With 87 it would detonate when i went to shut it off. I fine even in stock form it runs alot better with 93.

If you use 93 octane you cant go wrong with a higher compression motor.but if youre not ,a low octane will do any harm at all. you want to get the most out of your moded motor so run at least 93.

I blend 110 Sonoco with 93 pump gas 50/50 and it does great.
