 Elect Problem
So on sunday it was very foggy up here in Wisconsin, so ran the lights for over 45 mintues to get to the spot were we where hunting! Once I got there all my lights went out (Spot, nav and spot front of boat)! My fuse and the fuse casing on my 2011 PD melted. Do I have a problem with my wiring, and should I bring it in or should I not worry about it, just replace the part myself?
THANKS just a little worried, boat aint cheap!

 Re: Elect Problem
Sounds like you are drawing too much current on the wiring and using a fuse that is too large. What all are you running and what size is your wire and fuse?
That, or you have a short.

 Re: Elect Problem
Yeah that fuse should blow before the wiring starts "smoking"

 Re: Elect Problem
I dont know its all from the boat dealer, they hooked it up. I called them today and they told me to bring it in, so im bringing it in on friday. The way he was talking it could be a ground that was shorted. Problem up here in wisconsin, theres only one dealer that sells PD's, and he prob only sold 2 or 3 a year. I guess thats why im nervious!

 Re: Elect Problem
That sucks. I would think any boat mechanic should be able to handle wiring lights. I wired up a few things on my last boat. It's not that hard.
I was hunting in that fog on Sunday too. Haven't seen fog like that in a while. That was the slowest I've run my rig since I got it. Gotta love WI. Boat covered in a 1/4" of frost at 5am and back up to 70 degrees by noon.
I didn't know there was a PD dealer in WI at all. I ended up going down to Clinton, Iowa to buy mine. I wanted their hull anyways, so it didn't matter. Where did you get yours?
