Re: Best boat to buy for a 27hp SD motor
Ok im new to this stuff u can say im a green horn that needs help. I dont no the specs to my boat but can tell u with fuel in the back two battery in the back and in open water i cant even plane out. (speed less then 15 mph im guessing) i no that stuff needs to go to the front but dont have no room. like i said dont no much but when a 1436 jon boat with a 10hp go-devil long shaft can out run u and put u in the dust to me there is something wrong with that picture. But if thats normal well then ok but i dont think it is.

WEll idk the width of your boat but I would say a longer boat would deffinely help something in the 18x40-42 range as Owen said in your other post. These boats run Better on a longer boat whoever told ya short an wide is best for a surface drive was mistaken.

I would not go one inch shorter than 17 feet, and I would personally look at 44-48 inch wide boats. Then it will be the perfect size for when you upgrade motors. Not to mention perform right with the motor you have now.
