I am looking at the 1846 Gator series GTB but my only hang up is the side height. I talked with Team Camo last night (thanks again) and he things the sides are actually 20". Looking at their site, one place says the sides are 18" and another area says they are 20". I currently have 20" sides and don't really want to go down 3". Does anyone have a 1846 Gator Series handy that would be willing to go measure the sides for me? p.s. I called GT and they said its 18" sides, the SEGT dealer thinks they are 20" so I'm getting conflicting stories. |

It starts with a 7' wide sheet (84") 84" - 46" = 38 38 / 2 = 19 However you lose a little with the crimp and angle of the sides. It's closer to 18" |

You can get taller sides with an 8' (96") wide sheet but I don't know how they will charge you for it 96" - 46" = 50" 50 / 2 = 25" So you can get UP TO 25" sides. Again with the crimp and angle they will be closer to 24" But you can get it cut down if you wanted. |

cb5331 - thank you for the math lesson. willett - yes they said you could get 24" sides but it would be an $800 upcharge. How can there be such conflicting measurements on the side height of a boat. Some say 20, some say 18.....WTF is it? Thanks |

After riding in 24" sides for a year and running a 1746 GTB for a few weeks, I missed the taller sides. I never really felt unsafe just wasn't what I was used to. I did make anyone that rode in it sit in the floor just to be safe. However this is just my personal opinion |
