Any cons to a boat that the sides and bottom are welded together, rather then the sides & bottom being one piece bent?

It's 2 more welds that could fail. My boats welded and its held up good.

More boats are built by being welded together than being bent. It's usually a double weld(outside and inside) what you need to lookout for is a weld being down the center of the bottom, that is a problem. But the side, that's very common, prolly the most common lol, you've got nothing to worry about.

I have always wondered this as well. The weld is usually the weakest part and the first to crack. I would think a crimped hull would be a little stronger plus it cuts out anywhere from 4 - 17 to 19 foot welds inside and out. If you don't know what your doing, that much heat in a given area will warp your shit. Just a thought.

IMO a boat that has welded square chine is more solid than a one piece hull if done properly. And is gonna be straighter also.
