I've ordered a borel 18 x 50 and I'm still trying to decide on the floor plan. I'm debating between a center gun box , pedestal seat mounts down the center, or just an open floor and buying a couple of these for the guys I mostly hunt with who are each going to bring a bag full of crap anyway. Just wondering if these buckets will hold up or if they're junk. I know I've seen at least one pic on here of somebody's boat that had 4 or 5 of these in it |

bfenn uses those stools in his boat to hunt from & autogateman has one as his driver's seat. |

I was just kinda thinking in my last boat I had 3 pedestal seats lined up down the boat center PLUS everybody carried they're own bag of shells, calls, flashlight, thermacells, etc. now, if everybody can carry there crap in these AND sit on em that's half the clutter in my boat GONE! |

With a gun box on one side, use these stools, put shells & crap on gun box like a shelf. Easy access & clutter free floor |

They are good storage and sit on and drive, but I noticed that being I leave my shit outside sometimes.. Mine fills up with water when raining and is always moist on the inside. I know if I would pick it up that might not happen. 17/54 extreme GT pushed by a 35hp gtr Wooden pirogue pushed by a wooden paddle NUT UP R SHUT UP |

1. If empty, they will fly out of boat while trailering. 2. They are not stable...you will find yourself on your ass a few times. 3. The under the seat compartment is not dry storage. 4. The seat is too small...your ass will hurt if you sit a long time. Other than the above, they are fine. |

Use these "pods" with your most favorite swivel pedestal seat. Put them anywhere in your boat that you want. Especially if they are bringing their own bags of "stuff." ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363198135.171967.jpg Sent using Morse Code from my not so smart phone. |

I use the seats and have no complaints. Lay them down flat and they won't fill up with water when raining and you've left them sitting out. They can be moved around as needed or removed depending on the # of hunters. Academy, Cabela's and Gator Trax has them. I got mine w/ the boat and paid the same price as cabela's had on them. The seat bases are nice also just minus the storage. |

I have had them for a while. Just make sure the beer is under your buddy so you don't have to get up every five minutes. I have only had a little trouble with water and it was always when they were on the side. I always figured it was the holes where the seat is attached thru. |

Thanks for the input guys, sounds like these do hold up pretty good. I'm thinking ill go with a removable gun box in the center up front and a couple of these for the back end of the boat. Ten if I decide I hate the gun box or its all up in my way ill get a couple more bucket seats. |

This is what I use. Cheap, versatile and stack up for storage. If I have an extra hunter along, I can usually find one on side the road on the way to the launch. ![]() |

I have used these seats for years and love them. The seats are kinda small, but they have same bolt pattern as a normal marine seat so if you have a favorite kind of boat seat, switch them out. That is what I did and now have nice comfy seats. As for dry storage, i have never had anything in these seats get wet so I do use them as dry storage. Anyway, those are my thoughts. |

The seat is called the bird and buck seat and I have used them for years. Cooler on the inside. You can store stuff in there, keep drinks cold, dead birds cold or out of the way of dogs. Great for all kinds of bird hunting and deer hunting as well |

have not used those. so cant comment. I am looking for something I can get out of the way if I want to so I go with folding. Have three of these in the front storage, and pull out only what I need: http://images.cabelas.com/is/image/cabe ... ik2QJs-mXH |

I ended up ordering one of these last week to see how the quality is before I decide to buy several. Was really surprised at the quality. I thought they were just a 5 gallon bucket with a seat. But they are made out of really heavy molded plastic with heavy duty hinges for the lid that look like they will hold up well. They're heavy enough that even empty I think they would have a hard time blowing out of the boat if you laid them down on the floor for trailering. Will be ordering a couple more |

I had it on my old boat and hated it. Always filled with rain water, uncomfortable, and the hinge on the back is crAppy and flexes too much. Works great as just a dove stool though. If you gonna use it as a drivers seat make dang sure you bolt it down. I had one of those "this is how I die" moments when running my boat before I bolted it down. |

I knew that old fishing seat would come in handy for something LOL. Removed the old swivel cushion and replaced it with an old fishing seat. MUCH better! |
