Post Go Devil skiff rehab
Thanks to everyone who shared info on foam removal, boat painting etc..

I have a 1636 GD .125 skiff and MB 23 SD. Good little boat, easy to hide and hunts two men and a dog or me and my sons easily.

The back floatation was waterlogged. I asked my welder to cut the boxes out where he could live with doing the fab work later. I then took the boat home and used y'alls advice about the pressure washer and turbo nozzle to remove foam. That came out at 85lbs. (Some of the water weight is probably from pressure washing)
I then had him box in corners and weld a cross brace where the center seat had been removed to ensure boat hull did not twist.(boat is solid, no evidence it was)

I then reglued hydroturf and wire brushed the sides of the hull where water was inside foam(cleaned up no problem) cleaned with MEK, acid washed with white vinegar, then primed with rustoleum self etching primer (spray can)

Rewired boat and roughed up the existing frog spit that had a lot of bare patches with wire brush and sander.

Gator glide went on very easy and looks nice, but 1/2 gallon did not quite do the trick. That might have been operator error, but I could have used two more thin coats(less than a quart)
I went high on the sides because the previous owner ran lilies a lot and went high there with the frogspit.

Here are my slave laborers...gotta earn your seat :)

Once GG was dry, we flipped her over and I painted the base color. You guessed it rustoleum OD.
Two coats, then went to work with reelfoot stencil on camo.
Little advice here: clean stencil often and overlap more.
Once paint dried, I did two coats of flat enamel spray sealer.

Took her for a test run a few days later, gained about 2 mph and boat sits a lot nicer and will probably haul a load better.

Thanks again for all the help Gents.

Thanks guys. Pretty fun little project. I forgot to add the couple of cases of beer we drank and the probably half bottle of Ibuprofen Bayoustatehunter probably had to eat to get his back right after flipping the boat a bunch of times LOL. And yeah Gator the outside edges of the foam held some water weight for sure!

I was lucky, the previous owner got rid of the floor foam when he cut the center seat out. I got the hydroturf from Gatortrax, I think they call it the grass cameaux. And thanks man.

LMAO. Getting mid 25s with just me and dog in choppy water Prop a little worn and silencer in exhaust. It will probably do over 26 once I take silencer back out in smooth deep water. Was getting right at 20 during season with blind, two men, dog, cooler and 2 doz dekes. Probably a little faster now
