Post Water wings or spray crimp
Anyone ever added either of these to a boat? I have a 1638 GD boat that does great other than the water rolling up the sides on plane. Would love a higher sided rig, but thought some crimps may help for now. I know the newer ones come with crimps

a buddy of mine put 2" spray rails on is boat and said it made a big difference. Always put them on our inboard mud boats and they always helped cause inboards were always way skinnier boats then these surface drive boats.

my boat has plenty of freeboard and never had problem water coming over back, but under power in deep water, it rolls up over the sides at the very back. Makes me a hair nervous

i added wedges on the bottom of my 1644 with gdsd and it fixed the same problem for me. i think they were 6in wide and 3/4 tall on the bottom on each side. still easy to push across mud if you happen to get stuck.

I had the same problem with my 16x44 GD Hull with 35 GDSD. I called Go-Devil and Coco said to put a 2x2x1/8 angle 6" from the top; so far so good.

I want to say they come in a 30 foot stick, so just cut it in half and weld it on. I will try to post a pic later.

I used to run an 18x38 GD boat and water would roll up the sides. I had a piece of 1 inch aluminum angle stitch welded down the side. Mine started just behind where the rake flattens out and ran all the way to the stern. It fixed the water walking up the side problem. When I put a 36 PD on it after that it would porpoise like crazy. 1/2" wedges cured that problem.

ive gotta get some welded on mine. Honestly that's the only thing I don't like about the boat. Gonna cut my back float pods cut out and floor hydroturfed and gatorglide on bottom and ill be good to go
