Post is a 4400 black death efi hdr to heavy for my excel 1651 SWV
Hi I am looking a buying a Mud buddy 4400 black death efi hdr for my 1651 excel without pods. It has a 25 hp long tail on it now and does not seem to be a problem just slow as crap and Im not very good at driving it in timber.......... and I want a surface drive haha! I think those motors weight about 100 more pounds then the long tail i have now and i was wondering if it would weigh my little boat down in the back to much. Thank you for the help in advance!

Should be alright, Been running Big Block MBs on my 1648 Alumacraft , for the last 8 seasons without issues, its a tall transom riveted Jon, with the rear seat moved forward 16" for better balance. Currently running a Modified MB 45 HD Sport.

Thank you guys! I took my boat out last night to test it out with extra weight in it to see how she would do. I put 215 lbs of weights and an extra battery in the back and it seemed to be fine. I have a pic but I’m not sure how to post it on here.
