Post Speaker placement?
I’ve got a center console rig being built right now and plan on throwing 2-4 speakers in it as soon as I get it. Had the wet sounds sound bar on my last rig and want to go a different rout this go around. Looking at the boat it doesn’t seem like there are a whole lot of options.. thinking about mounting them on the console but don’t want them all facing the front of the boat maybe at least 1 facing the back. Anyone have a cc with speakers mounted on the console? If so post some pics. Here’s a pic of the boat right now

If I were setting up your rig:

(2) JL Audio 7.7 coaxial speakers in the the rear (one in each corner box).

(2) JL Audio 8.8 coaxial speakers on each side of console facing out.

(2) JL Audio 7.7 under front deck facing toward rear of boat.

(1) JL Audio 10 inch sub in bottom of console facing the rear.

(1) JL Audio Media Master source unit

It will be expensive, but awesome and dependable for many years.

(1) JL Audio MHD900/5 amplifier

Hahahaha ^^^ that was a little more than I was shooting for but thank you sir! If you look at the pics, the storage right behind the console is a Livewell so can’t really mount a speaker there... and under the front deck I have about a 6” drop down gun box and directly underneath it is the built in gas tank. Not a whole lot of room there either. I’ve assumed I’ll have to mount on the console. I want at least one facing the front and on facing the back, then possibly one facing out to the left and right of console.

One of my has 4 6.5" in the console 2 facing forward, 2 facing to each side with a 300 watt amp plenty of good sound(on the SeaArk w/150hp FS)

Mud boat has 4 - 6", 2 in back storage bench facing forward, 2 in front storage facing back with a 400 watt amp. not near loud enough when running more than a fast idle.

Neither boat has a head unit just a "headphone" to plug in your phone or iPod, for FM radio I use the "NextRadio" app on my phone. Both amps are turned on and off by a dash mounted switch.

I don't recommend using a Pyle marine amp its not all that, but a 300 watt Boss amp is pretty good for the cost.

the console is not very far forward of the motor and its a four stroke and for 150 hp it is pretty quite. and that is camo burlap glued on speaker covers with sprayed on fabric glue. its been on them for about 4 years now.

nice. I’ll probably just have to stick a couple on the sides on the console and a couple on front of it given my options. Thanks a lot.

BTW I looked at amp its a watt 300 watt, the 4 speakers came from walmart, the cheap like $30 a pair, and the audio jack (from Amazon) is plugged into amp by the RCA inputs, I use the Ipod or play back device for volume, the amp is set almost full volume.
