Gator Tail 18x54 heavy load speeds
I am looking at an 18x54 extreme, tiller GTR 37 EFI with a cam and hard tune. My question is what can I expect it to haul as far as people and still get on plane. I bowfish and sometimes have 4 guys with fish so I know this may be out of the possibility of this boat. I also duck hunt and have to winch the boat over a roller dam so a larger dual motor rig is to big and heavy to make that happen. Trying to meet in the middle and have one boat. Currently running an 18x60CC with a 60 outboard for bowfishing and a 15x44 Uncle J with a stage 1 Copperhead 23 for ducks. The 18x60 does everything I need but would like to get out of it into a mud hull. The Uncle J is awesome for one man can outrun anyone but put another man in it a prepare to be embarrassed.

I have that rig, but with a carb Motor. I have a level 3 kit from Delta. I can step 4 guys and run around, but it’s a lot with bowfishing gear.
I can get up with 3 guys and bowfishing gear and about a barrel full of fish. With that load I can still run mid 20s but it takes a long while to get on step.

I don't think a cam alone is going to get it done. Does it really have a cam but stock heads?

It will have head work to but I don't think it is going to do what I want. We fish large open water and a boat can get you in a bind if it dont step up quick when the wind comes in. Unfortunately I need two boats one for timber and a dual rig for lakes. Just don't see the one boat covering everything I do.

I had a 1860 GT with a delta stage 2 and hunted timber an big water. I loved that boat and still kinda miss it. I have a 1848 now. It does great in big water as well but I got tall sides on it and the wind is a bitch.
