Gentleman, I have a 1944 GatorTrax no hunt deck, I also have a 2018 37EFI GatorTail, I want to get a new boat with hunt deck around 1854. GatorTail is telling me I need to go with a GatorTail for the best performance? Not sure why but I would like to see what y'all say to that? Also I do mostly fishing and running a Trotline with the boat. What would y'all say I should get? Thank you,

Gator will try and sell you there rig, it's a business. There motors and boats do perform very well, however with all the custom boats out there, why not look into that. The good builders have pretty much been around all motor types , so know how to setup transom angle etc. Plus a custom boat, you pick exactly what you want.

Hey Bluesky 2012
Did you get beat up a lot as a kid? Was someone always taking your lunch money? Is that why you can feel like such a man online?

Dude, sometimes trolling isn't about trying to be a man. Sometimes it's simply to aggravate the fuck out of someone or waste someone's time that has been deemed to be troll-worthy. A complement, if you will. You asked a question that so many before you have asked and a simple search would've shown you (proving you didn't bother or can't figure out how to search the forum), and it is actually pretty easy to figure out that a company is going to tell a potential customer that to make more money. It's the party line. So instead of answering the question, he decided to extend you the courtesy of his trolliness...

You can’t post anything on here without bunch of guys talking shit or bitching about what you post. Big deal he didn’t search the forum, if you don’t want to help the guy out stay off his post. Or be kind and explain how he can search for the information that he seeks. I wouldn’t help or share a duck blind with most of these dicks on here. Where I come from you respect people, and help them out when you can. Internet trolls !

I was in close to the same boat... pun intended. I’ve scoured the interweb looking for the right boat to match my MM. I really don’t think it matters big picture. Thickness of aluminum, chine, and some say degree of transom factor in on performance. That 37EFI GT should push any of the 1854 mud hulls out there but depends on how much weight you load up with as far as performance. Never owned a gator tail but heard the make some good boats so no loss if you decide on one. Doubt they perform any better than the others.... just depends on application and weight you plan on running. Fishing should a relatively light set up. My advice would be to shop around for the best price/ fit for your application.

If this warrants a Richard Simmons meme then so be it- pretty sure he’s a mud boater..
