I did not expect that the addition of the bow fishing lights, rail, and generator would slow me down as much as it did.

I am running a GTR XD 37 EFI with Delta level three mods and a big two blade from LA Prop.

I used to run two people at around 29 to 30, with the bow fishing rail and 2000 watt inverter generator I run about 25 mph.

Do most folks see that much of a drop with bow fishing lights?

That's a decent bit of added weight up front which will make you plow. Move weight to the back and you may be able to get more speed. Try flipping weight around for a bit till it runs better. If not, just remember it is just a lawnmower after all.

Do a leak down test. Your valves may be leaking.

Great replies, I throw in another also.

The length of rake could have an effect also, but more than likely it is weight distribution.

not sure the weight added form your light rail and genny but the big 50W LEDs are 5-6lbs each X 10-ish lights is 50-60lbs + a rail (15-20lbs) + Honda 2000 genny is 50lbs with gas. looking at an extra small person of weight in the boat with the gear. not even including any deck extension that you may have.

I have a VERY similar rig to yours 2060 Gatortrax with removable light bar and deck insert. I lost 1 mph adding the 50lb genny, 40lb deck insert and 40lb light rail w/ lights. I went with the smaller and lighter weight Vigurem LEDs bc they are half the weight of the standard LEDs.

not sure if you are using a 24v or 12v troller. I went with a 55lb thrust 12v and it pulls the boat just fine. keeps 1 less battery in the boat with that decision.

Mud rigs are sooo temperamental with weight, have to trim it as much as you can.
