GDSD 23 and 1648 boat
Anyone running a 23GDSD on a go devil 1648SD boat?
What kind of speeds you seeing with and without a load. Stock or modded.
I have a 1644 now, debating if it’s worth getting the boat designed for the SD.

Re: GDSD 23 and 1648 boat
A GD 1648 will handle loads better and run faster than the GD 1644...
I ran the 23 GDLT on a GD 1648 - 21mph was max speed solo - but
I also ran the 35 GDSD on the 1648 - was a good combo solo or for 2 man but too short for 3 man.... I now run the GDSD 35 on the 1844 and like this combo the best - it is slower solo but the length lets it handle 3 man better....
Hope that helps...

Re: GDSD 23 and 1648 boat
Thanks Giga. I figured the 48 would be better with a load. Sounds like pretty good for LT speeds. I’m leaning further to the 1648.
A 1844 and 35 like you have is my ideal set up but 75% of my hunting is in hp restricted areas so that’s why I’m sticking with the 23.

Re: GDSD 23 and 1648 boat
If your buying new cost difference between a 16 foot and 18 foot is very small....
Get an 1844 or 1848 - except for taking up more room to store - there are almost no negatives compared to their 16 foot counterparts - speed solo will be almost identical and speed with loads will outperform the 16 footer...
Just my 2 cents - I ended up trading away a 1644 and a 1648 to get the 18 foot hull....
If I did it over again it would likely be for a 20 footer - LOL
