So I am interested in a 16 ft Go Devil boat I found for sale. I am not sure if its a 1644 or 1656 but from the pics it looks like a 1644. It has a 24 hp honda LT.

I previously had a 1648 MV hull that was beat to hell and had numerous hooks. Budget boat to get me started. I kept my 35 hp Beavertail Longtail and its in the garage.

If I was to pick up the boat would my 35 be too heavy?

Also looking from general information on the hull as far as performance and handling

The GD 1644 was built for a lighter LT - it will hold the 35SD but will sit low
in the water.... The oldest were only .100 gauge not .125 - the rear plate will
tell you...

The GD 1656 is a hull much better suited to the 35 SD - but the 1644 is a good
starter hull - that is why so many are for sale... It will be a decent 2 man hull
but will be a bit slow due to sitting so low in the water...

You will enjoy that GD 1656 - it is a great hull...

Originally designed for LT but equally suitable for SD if you go that way later...
