Post Time for a new project
No, this won't be a mud rig, but it will be used for duck hunting when the path to hunting isn't in need of a mudmotor. Figured I'd post a couple pics of the "before" and update here and there as I get it ready for duck season. Was my grandfather's boat, spent many hours fishing with him or my dad in it.

Boat specifics:
1981 Duracraft stick steer
15x42
'81 35hp Evinrude

Trailer was redone a couple years ago, so other than adding side bunks, it's ready to roll (literally). Engine runs like a scalded monkey.

Now to the pics.20200727_153844.jpg20200727_153804.jpg20200727_153758.jpg

1: Get rid of the carpet, pull the floor (its got a lot of flex and a little splitting, so going to go back with slightly thicker aluminum).
2: Remove the floatation boxes in the back along the sides, rebuild them across the transom with space between them for the bilge pump. Remove the livewell (we rarely used it anyway when it was a fishing boat only).
3. Swap the front seat box for a driving pedestal. Reconfigure the rear seat box to fit a fuel tank against the moved floatation boxes and flip up to have the battery underneath.
4. New controls for the engine, new switches for the running lights and a small light cube on the front.
5. Larger opening for the front deck for life jackets and boat cushions.
6. Move the trolling motor to the side, and add a quick release plate.
7. Camo Paint and hydroturf, and fresh wiring where needed, and a blind.

Just don't go too far!! My friend's brother was cutting the floor out of his fiberglass Warrior (don't know if you guys have that brand down south) with a sawzall and he couldn't figure out why someone would put concrete in the bottom of a boat. Till he figured out it was his garage floor

Lol. My hunting buddy did most of this. I think he wanted to do some demolition work and get out of his house for a while. Took him about 2 hours with me taking a break from work to help on couple things.

Floor is out. Have 1 dent I'm about to tap out, then gotta add a rectangle of aluminum to strengthen that area. Then clean everything, flip the boat, sand, gluvit, then paint the outside, let it dry, then put it back on the trailer for the inside work.

Got the foam on the way (got 2 spots I'm going to pour in, the rest is flat and will take 2" sheets perfect fit). Still have to reconfigure the 2 boxes in the back to adjust usable space and fuel tank location. Then foam down, new floor, mount the seat pedestal in the front. Then wiring before i put in the sides and rear seat box.
