 What is Best Shaft Length for Trolling Motor? Ref: Boat is 17'x50" Gatortrax w/ 35 Mudbuddy, rear mounted starting battery, 2 front mounted RV batteries & 6-Gal fuel tank & Bow mounted pedestal seat.
What is the best SHAFT LENGTH for the trolling motor for a bow mounted Minn Kota troller?

Re: What Shaft Length Trolling Motor? I have MK Edge 55lb hand controlled on a comparable sized boat, the shaft length is 52" and is perfect for me. If you are wanting to go with a foot controlled you could get away with a shorter length.

Re: What is Best Shaft Length for Trolling Motor? Yeah, I forgot to add that my boat is already equipped w/a plate for bow mounting. GatorTrax has recommended that I go with a 42 - 45" shaft length. Thanks for your input Bigbend.
