Post subject: | Help, I am not sure what to do. |
***Disclaimer: I have searched the old post and have not found enough information to guide to the best decision yet**** Ok, just threw a 35 MB on the back of my 1648 War Eagle. At first had trouble with water over the transome, but then I learned to stop slower and kill the wake before it gets to the boat, first problem solved. Second issue, I am running and as I trim up, the dang tiller pushes towards me hard. (I sit to the right of the motor) I have the motor mounted 1" to the left of center. Before I adjust the skeg, i wanna here what you guys think. Third issue, the boat pops up quick, but the faster I go the more the bow sinks in the water unless I trim up, and then problem #2 happens. Any help yall can give will be appreciated. ![]() |

You either have a hook in your boat, or too much weight up front. Sounds most likely to be a hook, tho. Problem #2 is b/c you have it trimmed up too high. First, easiest & cheapest thing to do is look down the bottom of the boat for a hook (dent). If the transom isn't all the way on the bunker boards, that's where it's gonna be. Hope this helps. |

As Camo said, sounds like a hooked hull. In general, War Chickens and MM dont really perform well. A boat build for a MM will make a world of difference in performance. As far as tiller torque, play with your load placement. Shifting things around can help. Good luck. |

problem 1-put some pods on it (or sell the boat and start over). Had the same problem. Added pods (custom made to fit my boat-not the beavertail-fit any boat ones) to my boat and made all the difference in the world-My boat was a legend craft mm boat-had horrible backwash-almost cound not possibly slow down enough to no get any water in. Problem 2-why is your motor off-center? that would seem to be your problem to me-i am no expert, but would think that would give you quite a push-i do get a slight push on my pd when trimmed way up-but it is very manageable.. Problem 3-yeah i would play with my trim and adjust weight distrubution throughout the boat- Loose stuff and passengers... we play with our weight distrubution all the time and seem to figure out just a little more each time. AND ck the bottom of your boat... Just my .005 (my cents are worth 2...) Good luck... |

1" off center away from you is where MB tells ya to mount it. |

Thanks guys, you told me the things that i needed to hear, I know my boat is not the optimal boat. Looks like i am gonna be working on some dents this weekend. I am still running 25 -26 mph with 3 guys and a 10 " prop. I am almost possitive I can work the dent out. I know where it is, and I remember the oyster reef that put it there, ![]() |
