Post Tulsa Woody's face lift...(pics)
17x54 Gator-tail boat with 35hp GTR and MM exhaust (boat/motor 3 yrs old)

Big Thanks to Jamie B. for selling me the console (on MMT) saved me about a grand

Big thanks to Kyle@GT for getting me in working within a limited time frame.

And a very special thanks to Mike@GT for working overtime to get my rig looking awesome!

When i picked up the rig on Saturday, i ran out to the lake and took it for a spin...wow, that steering blew my expectations out of the water...unbeliebable how nice it is. Literally can go with no hands on the steering wheel. Now for some pics...

We moved the gun box to the front to give a little room to get around the console. Also moved a seat base torward the front as well.

added a seat pedistal--

Really very happy with the way it turned out!!

Well, we were already behind the 8 ball trying to get everything done so that i could get the rig on Saturday...because i was leaving to come home early sunday morning...there was rain in the forecast and they were going to have to take the boat to a different location to do the welding...and it was really not a big deal for me...i've learned how to anticipate the sliding, i just figured that while i had it down there, if it wasn't a hastle, i'd go ahead and have it done...well, turned out it would have been a hastle..for Kyle, Mike, and me.

Hey, it was nice meeting you as well...as far as running like a champ...in the shop, it was...when i got out to the lake, and tried to plane out, it sputtered (the reason we are talking about the engine is because it was not running good and GT swapped out the carb) and then finally got going...kind of scared me...then i realized i had no paddle, trolling motor, and the wind was blowing away from the landing...then i got real scared!!! But then i stopped/started/stopped/started and it was running good...at idle, it purred like a kitten...on plane, i could only get about 3500rpms in the sweet spot...usually i'm running 3800...so i'm confused on that one...any ideas? Weather permitting, i'm going to go out this weekend with a fresh tank of gas, however, that gas is not but a week old and is 100% gasoline...i even added a little carb cleaner to it.

Check your out of water RPM's... Adjust governor so it kicks in when motor his 4250. Also what hole did they mount your engine on? Top Middle or Bottom? I'm now running mine on top I was on middle ran bottom ALL winter... I'm loving the top hole getting 3790 deep water w/ WOT

When i got home yesterday, i cranked it up in the driveway and put in gear and got it up to 4090.

The hole placement is in the middle where i've always had it, so that's not it...but i did trim up while on plane until i started losing bite...like i said, in the sweet spot, 3500ish was all i could get and usually runs 3800ish.

Did you just do a CC conversion? Perhaps weight is balanced different?

You can turn another 200 rpms almost there's 3700 right there... Did you replace the prop?

They took my carb off and put on a new one...that's the only change to the motor.
Prop is the same
Possibly added weight from center console, but i doubt it...the boat was totally empty...I typically run with 12 gallons fuel, trolling motor, another battery...doubt the console weighs that much.

Is there a separate screw to adjust the rpms at WOT...different from the idle rpms? If so, where is it located?
Thanks,
Woody

Located on the starboard side of the motor... Behind the air cleaner box between that and the exhaust you'll see a phillips head screw with a spring behind it... Turn it right to make the governor engage at higher rpm.

Test & repeat... Very easy.

My mistake i talked to him on the phone today and described this boat to him and he said it was Max-4, but maybe we were talking about 2 different boats!

Yessir, that's exactly what it is...flip the switch from forward to neutral...then step on pedal and that engages the reverse.
