I picked up a running 16hp vanguard Go Devil for next to nothing last night i want to order a vanguard 35 to put in place of the 16hp will the longtail shaft work if i can out the prop. I looked on Go Devils web site and its a 72 inch tail and the 35 also can come in a 72. Im just not sure if it will swap out without beefing the tail up or not also if it will just bolt on.

the 35 mounting bolts holes is diffrent from the 16

You'll have to redrill your mounting holes change your your joint and also fro
3/4 to 7/8 shaft seals bushings bearings etc and don't forget the prop hope I didn't forget anything

ok thanks guys saved me a waste of money i guess the 16hp will have to due for now.

The two engines have different PTO heights, that would require major modifications for it to mount up.
Your balance would also be thrown way off.


A 23 hp Briggs would bolt right up and give you a noticeable increase in power.
