Post New prop for the prodrive
Once I get my carb ill be running a mikuni and double barrel marshmellow. My prop is the same prop from 06 according to previous owner. So it's in desperate need of a change.
Should I go back to stock?
Or if I want to go aftermarket I'm looking for a little better load carrying? Or top end
What size should I go with and where is a good place to get one from?
Thanks guys
Btw what is the stock 36hp prop supposed to measure?

If you're only changing exhaust and carb stock will be good especially with a load.

Might consider going to a 13 pitch but with a load it may be worse

I wouldnt say that you need a new prop just because the motor is a 2006. The prop on mine has been on for 275 hours and still runs just fine.

New prop should be around 12.25" I believe.

Post Re: New prop for the prodrive
The reason I say it needs a new prop is because it looked small compared to what I have seen on other prodrives and now reading this forum it got me thinking.... Went out and measured a whopping 11.5... From what I'm reading I'm prolly not getting full potential out of my motor.

What would be a good mud prop if I want to go aftermarket? Or should I still go stock

Buzz killington livening up to your name....if my boat is going backward and my motor is the reason it's going backward then I call that reverse....

Big blades don't fit the pd. Doubt the new prop will be any different if it ever even makes it to the market..........

Yea that hex big blade prop slides on the threaded shaft of the pro-drive, and has a nice snug fit.

2 things

MB would have to have a motor with reverse before they use it.
I might buy a sport v if they ever come out. I have always been a mercury fan and that is who is building the whole thing.

The big blade isn't enough prop for a PD. At 10P, it is no good for a PD.

Its hard to beat a new stock PD prob. As CB said back when fighting with Hershey over the "Magic Prop", "the prop game is an expensive one".

Stock is good, I sent me old one to get recupped changed to a 13 pitch, it might be worth using as a trot line anchor.... With three guys and four ten foot gators the other night I was turning 4100 rpm and only running 20mph...sucked

My prop nut came of. I'm going to call PRODRIVE and get the prop wrench and shaft locker thingy deal

no need!! a 2x4 with a 1" hole saw, drill a hole in the 2x4 to where is pushes on both blades.
a 6" 3/8 extension works in the collar to stop the spinning

if you had beer you would know this

A three foot crow bar works wonders (if you have one), put the prop nut back on to protect the threads, the hook end of the crow bar wraps around one blade, anything that will give you leverage and will twist it. If it's been on there a while, it'll take some ass behind. You'll think your about to lift a trailer tire pushing on it.

When you put it back on make sure your put antisieze or good grease all over everything.
