I recently purchased a 23 hp mud buddy HD and I put it on my 1546 Xpress boat and when I get to a certain speed, water comes into the boat from the motor. Why is that?

How do I find the Briggs and Stratton serial number, model, and code number on a Vanguard 4500 engine? The only number I can find is the Mud Buddy number 020291 on the side of the valve cover.

I have a Black Death 4500. Does anyone know how to find the Briggs and Stratton engine serial, model, and code number? The only number I can find is Mud Buddy 020291 on the valve cover.

I think it is stamped in the port side valve cover. If not port side then probably starboard side

Unless it's older, then it's on a riveted tab on the side of the block near the oil filter.

613477-0121-e1 is a pretty universal number to use if you're ordering parts for a horizontal.

We told you. They aren't there. Not sure what else you expect. Take it to your local Briggs dealer or call mudbuddy with that serial number you found. Stop posting in the wrong section in other threads.
