I don't know what you want to accomplish, but I was talking to a guy a while back that had a 27 mini. He swapped gears and slapped a big blade on it and was happy with the results... Hopefully you will have as good of luck as he did.

I am trying to accomplish landing to blind hassle free no break down atleast 20 mph ride . Just was curious with the extra torque with gear reduction, and if anyone has tried this setup already, and how it worked.

I am currently running a 1436 with a homemade tuneel, not good tunnel is 6 inches wide, prop is 10. working on a 1542 flat, but i am curious on trying my brothers 1442 mod v alweld.

Will be a two man hunting load; reason for the gearing is Mud Buddy mini started as an 18 hp, I just installed a 24 Honda I already had from my attempt to build a cvt mud motor. Which my 6.5 cvt is one year strong and still runs 15 mph with 2 people on a 1436 with a 9x7 longtail prop.

Sounds neat. I haven't had the opportunity to play with gears but maybe one of the mb guys will chime in and give you a better idea of how it should run. The guy with the 27 was running over 20 with a load, but was running a longer boat much better suited for carrying a load.
