Post GDSD Pressure Lubricator Replacement
Bought an '07 GDSD a couple weeks ago. The cap of the pressure lubricator is cracked on top. I have ordered a new unit from Go Devil and it should arrive late this week. Ordered the entire lubricator--not just the cap. I need any advice you may have on installation. I figure it's not overly complicated but if there is anything I should know, please inform me. This is the first mud motor I have owned.

nope, just unscrew the old one and install the new one. fill zerk on shaft, NOT the one on the lubricator, until it fills up. run the motor for a few minutes and see if the level drops, if it doesnt your good to go.

Ok, thanks. But why is there a zerk on the pressure lubricator if you aren't supposed to use it? What is the proper application to use the zerk on the lubricator?

thats for when its used in another application. thats not a gd part, its used on a buncha other stuff. if you just greased the lubricator, theres no way to know for sure its spreading the grease all throughout the shaft

And make sure you put a little teflon tape on the threads when installing.
