My buddy found a 06 Gator tail and asked me if it could be converted to a GTR. I said anything was possible, but I didn't know the exact answer, or the costs that he could expect. So I came here to search the brains of all you Guru's out there. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes you can. Just make sure you have your serial number off the frame.

Thanks for the info, just curious why do you need the serial #.
My guess is so GT knows that you actually have one and your not a giga trying to convert LOL.

I currently have an 06 gatortail and was looking to upgrade it to GTR status I spoke with Hoyt at gatortail and the price was $1,200

you can upgrade to a GTR for around 1200.00 as long as you have the right clutch some of the GT's have the current clutch that we use and some of the older ones have another and have to be changed out also.
