Did your old clutch rattle if not activated?

It seemed loose and made a rubbing or grinding sound while spinning in neutral. It was slipping about mid throttle but after engaging several times it held and I ran WFO back to the launch.

Maybe, but my old one made noise too. This noise was definatly different. Mine had a band that was broke in half and another one that broke loose from the rivet.

Mine made a grinding noise in nuetral and it turned out to be a bent band on the clutch.
