Looking for info on reliability on FPR units. Anyone been running one for awhile and can offer some feedback? Thanks for any help. |

None here either, and where I hunt you better have it. The only issue I ever had was the switch went out. I have replaced the switch and added solenoids to protect the switch. It also allows the trim and hydro pumps to receive full power from the battery. Before all the juice was ran through the switch. Works faster and smoother now with the addition of the solenoids. |

IMO it is far more reliable than I could have ever expected. I bought a used 27, and it was not equipped with the reverse; so I purchased the kit from prodrive. And, I can honestly say it is damn close to the best $500 I have ever spent. Because having the FPR has with out a doubt got me out of some pretty STICKY situations, where if otherwise, my only other option was a pushpole I would be completely SOL. |

I had about 1,000hrs no issues besides water intrusion. Fixed and no worries... Lower unit is very over built. |

Very reliable. Its and overbuilt gear driven set up....Not a belt. Only problems i have heard about have been caused by lack of maintenance. |

If one would google reliability... prodrive fpr should be the first thing that comes up... More reliable than birth control I can tell ya that! 276hrs shaft broke ...but fpr still pulling hard. Prodrive rebuilt lower unit installed greese inserts instead of oil..no wear at all on my gears 276hrs of flooded timber an cypress swamp longtail country. O I also pulled in 2d iffrently motors after search n rescue because of belts... 1 motor had less than 20hrs.. My 2 cents |

350 hours on my unit and no problems. I've hit stumps while idling so hard it shut the engine off, and still no problems. |

As mentioned above, I wouldn't worry much about the Pro-Drive. Worry about the boat you bolt it on. |

By the way, that is a really awesome video, makes me think again about a surface drive. Do you run stuff like that every weekend (during hunting season)? If that's public, I do think I know where that's at. ![]() Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk |

No...not like that every weekend. That is public ground....and there is a LOT of that stuff. My lease is actually in the wide open, bottomless marsh. But, I have run it through flooded timber in MS to bays and marshes of South LA. Gets me where I need to go....and more importantly; back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
