 "Stage 1" ProDrive - Best Prop/RPMs?
Wanted to see what y'all thought about this...
Got a 36hp ProDrive (gen 2 lower) with IM heads, a Mikuni, and a SW exhaust...
Before I did the mods I'd run around 3700-3800 rpm. Now I run around 4300-4400 rpm. I got an 1860 Phowler and am running about 28mph empty. Haven't ran it with a hunt load yet.
Is it ok to run at that high of rpms? Or should I think about gettin some prop work done to get my rpms back down.
Not concerned with speed as much as I am load carrying ability.
Here's a picture of my prop now.

Because different people might not read threads in one section, but will in the other? Doubtful, but pssible, I reckon.

 Re: "Stage 1" ProDrive - Best Prop/RPMs?
Sounds about right. I got a 1856 phowler, originally with a stage 1. Always ran about 4300 rpms and averaged 29 mph empty with PD prop. Tried a hopkins 12x13 and empty got 31 mph. As soon as i put a load on the hopkins prop it just didnt perform like a stock pd prop. All in all, i use the hopkins prop during fishing when we are light. Its nothing for me to go thru 2 pd props in a season. Keep an eye on the cupping, as soon as you lose cupping send it to hopkins to rework! Best decision i ever made going thru 2 props a season!
