My prop looks pretty good but has had that loss of traction feel for a while. After rigging up this new tool i found that my blades are over 1/4" different from each other. 3/4 socket and a piece of a dead longtail shaft work great or whatever u come up with. Weld socket to table upside down then insert 3/4 shaft. Slip prop over it and rig up piece of wire on fixed point. Cheap trick. Now i know i need prop work. Pay no attention to all the gussets on mine. I thought i could beat them straight but 8lb long handle broke several sockets, prop jumps out and is just dangerous .this is a good way to check a prop anyway. Ive checked a few around shop and was surprised how out of shape they are. Have fun

I was told by Warren Coco himself how that 3 blade prop was developed and how it's made. He said he only ever had a mold for a single blade that he duplicated 3 times. When the final product was done and he was satisfied with performance etc, he took the final mold of that single blade to have produced into investment castings. He said it was all done by hand and not an exact science. If you order a brand new prop from GD, there are differences in the depth of the blades.... But if it ain't broke......

Yea its a gd 3 blade. Ive got 3 here in shop. All are used and all have different heights and none of the props look like the next one to it. Random ups and downs

Finally ran boat today. With thw two lessor pitch blades brought up to match the biggest one and balanced it picked up 1 mph and has a much cleaner bite out of the hole. Im happy

How exactly did you adjust the pitch? You have a pitch block or just eyeball it with your tool?

My last prop performed better on the stock motor than the current one does. I'm about to switch back to it. Wondering if the pitch and balance were better on it. Both are new props but the one on there now sucks comparatively.

Set my prop up with a good pointer today... Not a single blade was pitched the same at all. (That's not new news) Probably 1/4" difference in them, maybe more. It's a miracle it has ran as well as it has :lol:
