Gen 3 is a 2:1 ratio Gen 4 is a 1.52:1 ratio I could be wrong but I think the 4 has a hex shaft and the 3 does not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There are no Gen 4's. Only Gen 3's with two different gearing options....noted above. |

Prodrive can probably tell you....or tell us what speeds your getting on what size rig....the majority will figure it out real quick. |

There is a way to tell, apparently there is some kind of marking on the L/U. I can't remember what it is though... |

I saw one this weekend. It'll be right under the gear box on the lower unit on the oil filter side. I swore it said gen 4. Could be wrong. Would the hex shaft not give it away, or does a gen 3 have a hex? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

How much cost/trouble is it to convert one from a 3 to a 4? |

If you got a way to suspend the engine for a few minutes (preferably an engine hoist), its pretty easy. Maybe a 30 minute job. Lil more the first time you do it, lil less if you've done it before. |

Last time I checked on cost, it was $1500 for the part. That was back when they introduced the 1.52:1 part. |
