Post Broken prodrive cavitation plate
Anyone else having issues with the cavitation plate cracking. The original on the boat cracked and tried to doing the cheapo in weld trick with no luck. Bought a new plate from prodrive and hunted this morning and cavitation plate broke again.

Take it off....only thing it does good is keep your prop from hitting the bottom of the boat. That is the only purpose that thing serves. You'll see much greater benefits in the mud with it off.

Seriously? So theres no advantage to running that plate? If so I may take mine off and see if theres any improvement to performance.

Seriously....in the mud, you will find a whole other gear. That cav plate and the vertical support only prevent mud from getting to the prop, efficiently. When you have no mud on the prop, you're blowing out and the prop is only pushing air.

Next time you're rooting around in the thick stuff, look and see how that cav plate is keeping that pancake batter and thicker stuff from recirculating back to your prop.
