I have a 2012 35 Gator tail. Is the zerk fitting on this suppose to have a ball? Dude at hardware store sold me without one, said that not all zerks have a ball. Installed it today, greased it up, and as expected, grease was coming out of the port hole. I need to know if the original zerk was one with a ball because it may be in the shaft. Thanks |

Every one I've seen in that application has a ball check zerk. Need to keep water out of prop shaft tube. I would grease tube then remove zerk and install a 1/4 20 set screw in its place sealed with a good waterproof sealent. |

Yes it should have a ball. The ball on your old one should not have been able to get to the shaft, there is a spring behind it that keeps it pushed out to seal it off. It popped out to the outside. Just get a new one with a ball and you will be fine. |

Thats not good. If it were mine I would pull it apart and clean it out just to be safe. |
