 GDSD prop removal??
Any tips on getting that SOB off?? Talked to the godevil guys and tried most of their tricks. Tried oil, heating the hub and a crayon, pipe wrenches... Any other ideas?

 Re: GDSD prop removal??
Support the skeg with something solid under it. Put a big wrench on the upper jam nut and brace it against the cavitation plate. Insert a 3 or 4 foot wrecking bar into the prop so you can turn it. have a friend hold the wrench against the cavitation plate and put all of your weight on the bar. That breaks the stubborn ones loose 99% of the time. If all else fails drill two holes, side by side in one flat of the upper jam nut. Be careful that you don't drill into the shaft. With a chisel split the nut. As soon as the nut is split the bind is released between the prop and the nut and the prop will turn off. Of course, you will need another jam nut, but they are cheap. Good luck.

 Re: GDSD prop removal??
Thanks Stu, might have to try the drilling and nut splitting idea as I have tried all else.

 Re: GDSD prop removal??
I made a little tool with three pieces of round bar that fit snug on the inside of each blade and welded a large socket to it. with a little heat and a 1" drive impact wrench runnin with 150 psi it comes off no problem.

Just be glad your trying to change this prop at home. Imagine trying to change it out in the marsh.

 Re: GDSD prop removal??
get a 16# sledgehammer.
have a buddy hold a 2x4 on the prop edge.
knock the fuk out of the wood with the hammer till it comes off. put a backup 36'' pipe wrench if u have to.
re-apply a heavy cote of marine grade never seize to the parts.
good luck.
