 Gator Tail Neurtal/Forward Switch
I'm pretty positive the neurtral/forward switch went out on my GTR 35. At first it wouldnt stay in gear then it got to the point where flipping the switch won't work at all. Luckily, the guy I bought it from had set up a second momentary/clutch bump on the grab bar. So, I was able to run I just had to hold that button the whole time. Anyway, is there another problem that this could be or do ya'll think its the switch itself. Where can I get another switch, I know could call the guys at gator tail but I figure i should be able to find one around the house too. Thanks

 Re: Gator Tail Neurtal/Forward Switch
It's just a regular on /off toggle switch. Nuthin special bout it. All you're doin by flippin da switch in forward is completin da electrical circuit dat sends da signal for da clutch to engage. I would check to see if one on da connections to da switch became disconnected or loose first. But if you really do have to replace da switch you can get one at autozone, napa, O'Riely's, wal-mart, ect. Also if dis were to happen again to you are anyone else readin dis you can just connect da wires bypassin da switch to get you home, also then you will know what it is like to drive a GD witout neutral.

 Re: Gator Tail Neurtal/Forward Switch
i checked all connections on the back of the switch and all seemed fine. i did notice there are about 6 wires coming into that switch. I don't understand what they are all for. I guess I'll just take it apart and bring to auto parts store to match. I HATE electrical problems, I can deal with most anything mechanical but electrical baffles me.

 Re: Gator Tail Neurtal/Forward Switch
You have six tabs on da back of da switch. On one side you have 3 tab wit only 2 wires comin off and onda other side 3 tabs wit 3 wires comin off, but 2 of da wires or comin off one tab. On da side wit 2 wires da bottom tab should be da one not in use. Da top tab will have a yellow wire, it goes to da solinoid. Da middle tab has either a yellow or green wire, it comes from your ignition switch. On da side wit 3 wires da top tab should be da one not in use. Da bottom tab will have a blue wire, it goes to your clutch. Da middle tab has 2 red wires one goes to your ignition switch the other red wire goes to your motor. I know dis is not what you was askin but I hope it helps you understand how it works. I'll look around and see if I can find a diagram for it dat I can copy and post up for you.

 Re: Gator Tail Neurtal/Forward Switch
You mentioned the guy had a momentary/clutch bump on the grab bar... Anybody else have this setup? Would you just add a switch in line?

 Re: Gator Tail Neurtal/Forward Switch
When you get the time check the key switch. Sometimes the tab on the switch for the red wire can get loose and cause this. This was for the motors with the switch located on the engine cover
