There was some interest in having another run this year after talking with some people at Caddo, so i asked Tony B to post this up.
Should be alot of good riding, tons of grass and lilly's.

starting Saturday 15th at 9:00am at Hen House ridge.

A little more info for ya'll. Dam B is near Jasper, Texas. Which has plenty of hotels and restraunts and is centrally located for you North Texas folks and Southeast Texas folks. Also you La guys feel free to drive on over. Dam B has plenty of vegetation and lots of sloughes to get back into.

Look up STEINHAGEN LAKE. It is just west of Jasper and south/southwest of Lake Sam Rayburn.

Here's a link to the Texas Parks & Wildlife website regarding the lake...

I might have to get me some crappies before heading back... I may make this run!

Roughly ~ 2 hour drive from Houston... Its North of Beaumont (way North)

Here's a link to Google Maps, just insert your starting location by clicking "get directions"

GOT DAYUM! You would do this on a weekend of the Delta banquet up here in DFW. Otherwise, I'd be all over it and open up the bar back at the lake house.

Turbo,

ran yellow lake / sweeney lake today in the area you were describing and the trails just north for a few miles

lots of downed trees to climb over and some really thick floatin veg

it was a workout - my hand is still crampin from hangin on and log jumpin

That "back loop" under the lil tiny 190 bridge was sweet - packed with
blackbellied whistin tree duck too....

No pics - first time in the area so was pretty focused on mapping
and GPS - ran over 20 miles either at a crawl or WOT based on my
GPS route storage and Google Earth

Planning a return run - maybe this saturday

That "Back Loop" would make an awesome video - sweet area
if veggies and hidden cypress knees don't scare you too bad

I blew through at 30ish prayin harder than a nun on sunday
that I didn't T-Bone a knee.....

Well looks like I'll be off of work. But don't know if I'm gonna be able to go. Just bid high on a alligator lease I've allways wanted to pick up. If I am awarded that lease I may be temporarely short on excess cash. I'll know more after Aug. 4th.

Just thought I would let everyone know the status on the lake. I went for a ride yesterday evening and it is already down about a foot and a half and is going to drain 6 inches a day until it drops 4 feet total. There is already alot of ground showing and you cant hardly get around the north end.

Just an F.Y.I. for you guys planning on coming here.
