Post ride planning help!
im wanting to plan a ride for the Arkansas area and don't really know where to start. how far do others rides last and what kind of route should i try to incorporate. I know we don't have a whole lot of mud flats like most other rides but we have some big woods shallow water. any help would be greatly appreciated!

There's a lot of good riding in felsenthal but you have to dodge the fishermen.

Felsenthal would not be a bad area, but if people dont like hitting stumps, it really isn't for them, also, if could be a win/lose situation as a lot of people that are down there are not too friendly to the mud motor world. But you never know, my wife's parent's live 10 minutes from the ramp and I frequent there alot. And I get the stink eye alot as well, but have never had any issues.

The other issue with there is lodging. The closest place to stay (without having someone that owns a large camp) is either El Dorado (30 minutes minimum) or Crossett (north west and can be 10 minutes to the ramp on the northern end of Felsenthal, or if they want to put in at the lock (which will be the closest to riding in mud motor conditions) it would be 45 minutes at least all the way around.

There isn't just any reall good conditions other than big/deep water riding in a whole lot of places in Arkansas and still be within good distance of a place to stay for the people that have to drive a good distance.

Just my $.02

Usually in early spring (if winter ever ends) the rivers flood and there are all kinds of shallow flats that hold water that we could ride in. It wouldn't be mud but it's still fun. Of course that would be dependent on the weather.

Quick go put em back in lol. We need to plan a ride next year for the weekend after the youth hunt. That could be fun. Organize an actual boat race and make it a fundraiser for the agfc so they don't have to write so many tickets next year lol
